Hello to all,
Here it is September and heading into the fall and winter season.
Where did the summer go? On the subject of summer, as promised in your last
newsletter here is the update of the third annual golf outing held back in June. Each
year this event gets bigger and better with almost 20 four man teams representing
Moose Lodges from Findlay, Tiffin, Clyde, Sylvania, Lima, New Riegel, Indian Lake,
Galion and Celina. What more can I say except it was great fun, fellowship, good
food and best of all a donation to Ohio Special Olympics in the sum of $1099. A
huge thank you goes out to all those that participated and all of you who helped out on
the course and at the Lodge. This goes to show that Port Clinton #1610 does go the
extra mile along with help from our fraternal brothers.
At the time of writing 090 this newsletter a new key card system for both 938 doors has
been 97 ordered and hopefully by the time you receive this letter it will be installed and
up and running. This system will allow you to use your membership card to obtain
access to the building at both entrances. This sytem will allow Port Clinton members
entrance into the building as well as other Moose members in the fraternity providing
your dues are paid and you are a member in good standing. When your card is swiped it
goes through the Moose International data base and will determine if you are paid and
in good standing. This system will be beneficial to the Lodge as well as you members.
The funds used to purchase the system were from the patio furniture and grill raffle, the
cooler raffle and a generous donation by a very loyal member of #1610 that wishes to
remain anonymous. Thank you brother, this was long over due.
There will be several upcoming events this fall and winter, some of which are included in
this mailing. We have an annual Moose hop in the fall. We are working on a possible
over-night trip that will include stops at Moose Lodges on the way to a casino ( staying
at the casino overnight) and stopping at a few more Lodges on the way home. Either
way we will have a trip in mid to late October. Check the Lodge often for more details.
In closing Lynne and I would like to express our sympathy, thoughts and prayers to the
family and to Garrett Lee after the recent passing of Bertha Sanns. Bert was a great
friend and passionate to the Moose organization. We miss you dearly Bert.
See you at the Lodge,
