FROM THE DESK
OF THE ADMINISTRATOR
Hello to all,
In writing the last newsletter in mid November for December, January and February the first paragraph mentions the light snow and cold temperatures already in November. Well as you are well aware it has been a very long, snowy and cold winter.
Our First Annual Reverse Raffle will be March 8th. At this time all but a few tickets are sold so I feel confident this will be a big success. I would like to thank everyone who helped make this happen ahead of time, especially Rod & Beth Biggert and Jenny Busche. There is an unbelievable amount of work is involved in the preparation and on the day of the event . My sincere thanks go
out to all of you.
The Lodge Board of Officers has implemented a new weather closing policy. This includes, but is not limited to Level 2 & 3 snow emergencies and extreme cold & wind. It is not the Lodges intent to close your Lodge home, but it is in the best interest for the employees and members. With winter being our slow season sometimes it is more cost effective to close in inclement weather conditions rather than remain open. With our Lodge sitting directly on the shore of Lake Erie, it
brings us tremendous winds that makes West Lakeshore Drive hard to travel. The Clubs & businesses located in downtown Port Clinton have some protection, making it more feasible for them to operate. If you are in doubt if the Lodge is open, simply call the social quarters at 419-732-8111. Thank you for your understanding.
The Reverse raffle will be the end of our winter activities and we are currently in the planning stages for 184 our summer activities. Please 937come out and support your Lodge 69 and check out what will be coming up this summer. Also, Friday night Karaoke will start again in Mid May. The Ohio State Moose Association will be holding a state wide Karaoke contest at the August convention held in Independence, Ohio. Please see the Lodge office for details if you are interested in participating.
It is time again for election of officers. Anyone interested please see an officer or the office.
Everyone is looking forward to spring and summer. Don’t forget the 4th annual
golf outing, it will be June 14th this year. This is a blast! It continues to grow every
year and so does the money raised for Ohio Special Olympics. What a great way to
have fun, great food and drinks and fellowship while helping this great cause.
Wishing all of you a great summer. Have fun, be safe and involve your Moose
Lodge in doing so.
See you at the Lodge,
