From the Desk of the Administrator
It's that time of year, and winter is upon us. Boats are winterized and so are the vacation spots. We “Townees” will miss the “Snow Birds” for a few months, but The Friendliest Place in Town is still open for daily business.
The Board of Officers hired myself, Mike Carpenter, as your new Administrator. As your Administrator, along with the Board of Officers and the W.O.T.M. 281, we would like to announce some exciting Lodge news for our members.
We have installed new big screen televisions so Members can watch their favorite team from any seat in the Lodge. We would like to Thank Everyone that came out during the Holiday weekend and joined us for the OSU/UM game! Feedback on our beer and wing specials was GREAT!
The children's play area is back and better than ever with new games and toys, so bring your Children and Grandchildren in for to play!
Together, the Board of Officers, Moose Riders, and the W.O.T.M. 281 have implemented a new chair drive to replace the chairs in our Social Quarters. As you know, they have seen more than their fair share of use. The chairs are $210.00 each and our goal is to replace all 150 chairs in our Social Quarters.
The W.O.T.M. 281 kicked off this endeavor with the purchase of 40 new chairs which are on order and will be delivered soon.
The Moose riders are hosting a Gun Raffle on January 17th, with a portion of their proceeds contributing to the chair drive. (tickets are on sale NOW at the Lodge).
There is a chart hanging in the Social Quarters with names of people who donated money to purchase a chair. If you would like to make a donation, you can send your check to Port Clinton Moose Lodge #1610, P.O. Box 98 Port Clinton, Ohio 43452.
We installed new signs in front of the building to announce Events/Moose Happenings.
In addition, we are currently making plans to update the outside deck for this spring!
I am in the process of evaluating the current food and drink prices, and I am excited to share that many prices have been reduced. You will also see new menu and drink additions in the near future. I believe once this process is complete the members of our Lodge will be very happy.
We are also putting together a cookbook featuring Members recipes! Bring in your favorite recipe, or mail it to the Lodge, attention Mike Carpenter. We plan to randomly choose from the group of recipes and feature them as a Special of the Day. Keep an eye on our menu for your entry and name!
Lastly, Ring in the New Year with your fellow Moose Members and Guests and join us for our New Years Eve Party. Party to start 7 pm. The Lodge will provide snacks, and we are asking for everyone to bring an appetizer to share.
Together, WE can make “The Friendliest Place In Town”, the PLACE TO BE!
